USDCLP Looks To Close Rate Hike Gap

CHILE
  • USDCLP briefly tested above yesterday's highs and is eyeing a test of Tuesday's pre-hike close at 774.15.
  • A potential breach of this level could spark some further momentum to the topside.
  • The ongoing political uncertainty and added risks associated with the potential fourth pension withdrawal may weigh on the Peso. Additionally, left-wing lower house deputy and former student protest leader Gabriel Boric leads Chile's presidential race with 25% of voter intentions, according to a Criteria poll.
  • A close back above 768.32 may also negate a technically bearish development for the pair, bolstering the case for a move back toward key resistance at 787.50, Aug 27 high.
