Vice President Alckmin Visits Saudi Arabia To Attract New Investments

  • Valor report that the government is hoping to attract investment from Saudi Arabia for energy transition projects. Vice President Geraldo Alckmin was in Saudi Arabia on Monday, where three memoranda of understanding and one agreement in the defence area were signed. In addition, the Brazilian Development Bank is reported to be in talks with Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund to form partnerships.
  • According to Valor, Saudi funds will be at an event in Rio de Janeiro next week to continue discussions. The focus of interest for Saudi investors is said to be in food and mineral production, in addition to sustainable projects.
  • Vice President Alckmin has now travelled on to China for a series of meetings over four days, including with the president of the BRICS Bank, Dilma Rousseff.
