Week Ahead: Focus on BanRep Minutes, Chile Economic Activity, Brazil IP, Peru CPI

  • Next week, the central bank of Colombia will publish the minutes to its June monetary policy meeting on Thursday, while the BCB, Banxico and BCRA will also publish latest survey data over the week. June PMI figures will also be released across the region, while Chile economic activity is set to soften in May and Peru June CPI inflation edge higher on Monday.
    • On Monday, the BCB will publish its usual Focus survey, with attention still on inflation expectations, which continue to edge higher. Latest Brazil manufacturing PMI data are also due, along with Chile economic activity for May and Argentina June government tax revenue. In Peru, CPI inflation is expected to rise to 2.3% y/y in June, after returning to the 2.0% target in May. Banxico will also publish its latest economist survey, while Mexico remittances will cross.
    • Focus on Tuesday turns to Mexico gross fixed investment for April, followed by June PMI data in both Mexico and Colombia.
    • Brazil industrial production for May will cross on Wednesday, alongside services and composite PMI figures for June.
    • On Thursday, BanRep will publish the minutes to its June monetary policy meeting, while Colombia May export data will also be released. In Brazil, June trade figures will cross, while the latest BCRA analyst survey is due.
    • The Citi survey of economists is expected in Mexico on Friday, while Chile nominal wages and Argentina industrial production and construction activity for May are due.
