What would the vote split look like if there is no cut?

  • First, we want to clarify that while the vote split if there is no cut does matter to some extent for whether there is likely to be a September cut, an unchanged 7-2 vote (with only Dhingra and Ramsden voting for a cut) would not exclude action at the next meeting.
  • There is a chance that we would see a 6-3 or 5-4 vote in favour of a hold – with Bailey and/or Breeden dissenting if quorum for a cut cannot be reached.
  • But there is probably a slightly higher probability of a 7-2 vote in this scenario with the internal members ex-Ramsden likely to move in a bloc.
