White House Hopes For Biden NATO Bounce

US

The White House will be watching closely to see if President Biden’s successes at the NATO summit in Vilnius this week can translate into a bump in his stubbornly low approval.

  • Biden recorded two significant wins in Vilnius, convincing Turkish President Recep Erdogan to drop his veto on Sweden’s NATO accession and shepherding a cautious approach to Ukraine’s future NATO membership.
  • CNN reported yesterday that the slow pace of President Biden's campaign is causing anxiety amongst some Democrats: "The conversations keep happening – quiet whispers on the sidelines of events, texts, emails, furtive phone calls – as top Democrats and donors reach out to those seen as possible replacement presidential candidates."
  • According to RealClearPolitics, currently sits at 42.1% with most voters reporting concern over Biden’s handling on the economy.
