  • “As we collect more data, we’ll be able to assess have we got that confidence that inflation is moving back to 2%.”.
  • However, confusingly, Reuters have run the below headline:
  • FED’S WILLIAMS: CORE SERVICES EX-HOUSING INFLATION FALLING FASTER THAN EXPECTED
  • The Bloomberg write-up from the scrum didn't have any mention of it, nor has the Reuters subsequent write-up which adds odds to a misattribution but we'll keep watching.
  • For context, supercore CPI accelerated to 8.2% ar over three months in March and the PCE equivalent lifted to 4.6% in the three months to Feb
