Yamal LNG Won’t Shut for Maintenance In 2024


Novatek’s Yamal LNG plant will not need to shut for maintenance in 2024, CEO Leonid Mikhelson said on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.

  • "We have closed all the issues with maintenance, with spare parts. We made a scheduled shutdown at the second train in June and completed full maintenance of the third train in August. Stable operation of Yamal LNG is provided for several years," Mikhelson said.
  • Novatek later specified that 2024 specifically would have no planned maintenance.
  • Yamal LNG produced 21m mt of LNG in 2022, over 16m mt of which went to Europe, according to Interfax.
