Yen Marginally Firmer In Early Dealing

The Yen is marginally firmer in early dealing on Friday, USD/JPY is down ~0.2%. Elsewhere in the G-10 space ranges have been narrow and moves have been limited.

  • USD/JPY prints at ¥143.80/90, we remain well within the recent range. Support comes in at ¥142.73 the 20-Day EMA. On the wires this morning Labour Cash Earning rose more than expected in May, printing at 2.5% Y/Y vs 1.2% exp.
  • AUD is little changed from opening levels, AUD/USD has dealt in a narrow ~10 pip range.
  • Kiwi is a touch firmer, NZD/USD has marginally pared some of yesterday's losses.
  • Cross asset wise; US Equity futures are down ~0.1% and Japanese equities are pressured with the Nikkei down ~1%. US Tsy Yields are little changed from opening levels.
  • There is a thin docket in Asia. Further out we have German Industrial Production before the June NFP print which provides the highlight of the session.
