Yen Recoups Some Of Wednesday Losses, But Contained Moves Overall


The USD has been slightly offered as the Thursday Asia Pac morning session progresses. The BBDXY is back sub 1225, with modest gains for G10 FX.

  • USD/JPY has drifted lower, back to 145.50/55, with the yen slightly outperforming the rest of the G10, albeit marginally. Yen was comfortably the worst G10 performed on Wednesday.
  • AUD/USD is a touch above 0.6700, while NZD/USD is at 0.6230. EUR/USD is at 1.0975.
  • US yields are a touch lower in early dealings, which may be lending some support to the likes of yen. US equity futures sit a touch higher.
  • We have Australia trade data coming up shortly, followed by the BoK decision (no change is expected). We then get second tier Japan data later on. US CPI later will be the main focus.
