Yields on HGBs Rise to June Levels

  • Yields on HGBs have risen notably this afternoon amid a wider uptick in core yields. 5Y yields are up over 20bps at typing, piercing the 8.000 handle for the first time since mid-June. 10Ys last deal 11bps higher compared to a 10bp and 8bp uptick in 10Y Czech and Poland bond yields, respectively.
  • EURHUF has pared earlier losses and stands 0.50% in the green at typing. The uptick has coincided with the recovery in the greenback and uptick in US Tsy yields through the NY crossover, which has hampered wider EM FX performance. The forint is mixed among its CE3 peers overall (PLNHUF: -0.05%; CZKHUF: +0.40%).
