Egypt Shipped 80% of its LNG to Europe Last Year

Egypt shipped 80% of its LNG exports to Europe last year, the country’s petroleum minister said on Monday.

  • Petroleum Minister Tarek El Molla earlier said that Egypt’s LNG exports were expected to reach 7.5 million tonnes this year, in line with 2022 volumes.
  • The EU's energy commissioner said on Monday that she hoped a memorandum of understanding signed last year by the EU, Israel and Egypt would allow Egypt to maintain "relatively high volumes" of LNG deliveries to Europe.
