India’s April Crude Oil Output Fell 3.5% YoY

India’s crude oil production fell by 3.5% year on year on April, with overall key industries’ output up by 3.5% on the year according to the Central Statistics Office.

  • Crude oil output in April fell by 3.5% on the year. Petroleum refinery products output decreased by 1.5% year on year.
  • Natural gas production declined by 2.8% year on year.
  • Overall key industries’ output rose by 3.5% year on year in April driven by higher fertilizer, steel, cement, and coal production.
  • The country’s crude oil imports fell by 8.3% on the year to 19.8mn tons in April. Oil product imports fell 28.3% on the year to 2.995mn tons, data from the oil ministry’s Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell showed.
