Kuwait’s 615,000 bpd Al Zour refinery is expected to be fully operational in “the next couple of weeks” according to a Bloomberg source.

  • The refinery fully shut down earlier this month because of a fuel gas feed leak.
  • KIPIC had claimed on November 12 that the refiner was expected to return to previous production capacity in around 10 days.
  • KIPIC has restarted a crude distillation unit and is working on starting up other parts of the refinery the Bloomberg source said, with startup completed in a “few more days” while the ramp up to full production will take a “couple of weeks.”
