MNI BRIEF: Fed Can Take Short Pause In Rate Cuts - Harker

MNI (WASHINGTON) - Choppy U.S. inflation data suggest a short pause in cutting interest rates would be appropriate, Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker said Thursday. 

"it's appropriate for us to take a bit of a pause right now and see how things shake out. And you know, we're not talking about a long pause potentially, but let's see how things shake out," he told a New Jersey business conference. "There's a lot of uncertainty.
