Oct Releases Postponed, Including This Week's Q3 GDP

CHINA DATA

China's National Bureau of Statistics has delayed several key data releases due later in October, including Q3 GDP and home prices which had been due out Tuesday morning.

  • No explanation for the postponements was provided, nor new release dates. It comes after the Customs General Administration delayed the release of trade data on Friday.
  • Below is a translated table - under the October column there is a "postponed" notation across the board apart from already-released data (including Friday's PPI / CPI), and a few reports (including PMI on the 31st) later in the month.
  • Coming into this week, Q3 GDP was seen in the Bloomberg economists' survey as coming in at 3.3% Y/Y (vs 0.4% prior), with year-to-date 3.0%.
