Upcoming Pernis Maintenance Likely to Impact Diesel Production

REFINING

Shell intends to carry out maintenance at its Pernis, Rotterdam refinery from March.

  • It is the biggest oil processing complex in Europe. Refining in the region has been thrown into the spotlight as it tries to move away from Russian refined products from February 5.

  • Shell will do maintenance work on one of the plants’ two processing units, likely impacting diesel production.
  • Shell will also take a vacuum unit offline. It is not clear if a hydrocracker will also be down for maintenance.
