GILT SUMMARY: Gilts are nearly flat after recovering from early losses
Wednesday.
- The Dec 18 Gilt future is up 2 ticks at 123.02, having traded in a range of
122.72-123.15 today.
- In a flattening move on the curve, the 2-Yr yield is up 2.2bps at 0.731%, 5-Yr
is up 1.7bps at 0.938%, 10-Yr is up 0.3bps at 1.386%, and 30-Yr is down 1.6bps
at 1.946%.
- Short Sterling futures strip is essentially flat, 1-tick moves here and there.
- PM May meets with EC President Juncker Wednesday night to discuss the Brexit
withdrawal agreement.
- Intrigue on both sides of the agreement, with some EU members (ie Spain)
expressing concerns on the deal, while domestic opposition continues to simmer.
- Nothing left on the UK key data docket the rest of the week; on Thursday,
BOE`s Saunders speaks after market hours.
