STOCKS: Regional stocks struggled in Asia-Pacific trade, on the back of the
continued move higher in U.S. Tsys, pullback from highs in U.S. stocks on Monday
& marginal curve inversion apparent on the U.S. Tsy curve. General scepticism
re: the U.S.-China trade "truce" remains evident.
- The Nikkei 225 last trades 1.4% lower, with a stronger JPY weighing. The
energy sector leads the way lower with industrials and financials not far
behind.
- Elsewhere, the CSI 300 trades virtually unchanged, while the Hang Seng trades
0.3% lower, with the IT sector providing the most weight.
- Australia's ASX 200 is 0.9% worse off, with the consumer discretionary &
health care sectors adding the most weight.
- U.S. index futures also trade lower, with DJIA futures ~140 points lower at
writing.
