DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY last trades at Y112.97, after edging lower & closing below
Y113.00 yesterday. Putting aside a peculiar 20 pip spike higher in early Thurs
Asia-Pac dealing, the rate operated within a narrow 25 pip range as U.S. markets
were closed for Thanksgiving.
- Bears keep an eye on the nearby 50-DMA at Y112.93 and a break below would open
up Thurs intraday low/cloud top at Y112.89/82. Conversely, initial bullish focus
falls on yesterday's peak at Y113.22 and a move through that level would shift
bullish attention to the 61.8% fibo retracement of the move from Y114.21 to
Y112.31 at Y113.48.
- As a reminder, Japan observes a national holiday today. Focus next week turns
to the latest Japanese labour market report, Rinban operations and an address
from BoJ's Masai.
