CHINA
CHINA: (1/3) After Chinese Premier Xi's "impromptu" visit to Wuhan, many have
been speaking of China reverting to "business as usual." An example would be a
couple of notable international auto names seemingly banging on the proverbial
factory door, as they look to get their Wuhan facilities back online.
- Worth remembering that the daily virus count/death toll remains
Wuhan/Hubei-centric, although numbers have of course dwindled. But this still
limits the region in terms of getting "back to normal."
- Just look at the recent moves by the relevant authorities. Wednesday saw a
Hubei provincial level statement released, which pointed to the gradual removal
of traffic restrictions in recent times to facilitate the resumption of work,
although people cannot leave Wuhan, or the province itself.
- In Wuhan, specifically, if a firm's business isn't key for supply
chains/fighting the coronavirus/doesn't provide necessities, it will not
permitted to restart work before next weekend.
