US TSYS SUMMARY: A choppy session for Treasuries following an early risk-on
move, with global safe havens boosted intermittently by 1) Headline of Iranian
promise of "harsher revenge soon" 2) dovish speech from BOE's Carney.
- Pretty decent volume (~400k contracts) in TYs, though hardly comparable to
Wednesday's 1.25mln+ by this point.
- Mar 10-Yr futures (TY) steady at at 128-24.5 (L: 128-22 / H: 128-28.5).
- The 2-Yr yield is unch at 1.5805%, 5-Yr is unchanged at 1.6629%, 10-Yr is down
0.4bps at 1.8703%, and 30-Yr is down 1.2bps at 2.3501%.
- S&P set to open at a fresh all-time high, e-minis up 0.3%.
- FedSpeak will take centre stage today with no fewer than 6 FOMC members (incl
3 2020 voters) on the docket.
- The schedule: Clarida (0800ET - voter), Kashkari (0930ET - voter), Williams
(1130ET - voter), Barkin (1245ET), Evans (1320ET), Bullard (1400ET).
- Light on data again today (just jobless claims at 0830ET), with Friday's
payrolls figures the primary focus.
