EQUITIES: A heavy session for Wall St. based on several matters that we have
outlined elsewhere (including Joe Biden's denouncement of shareholder
capitalism) provided some pressure to the major Asia-Pacific indices in the
final session of the week.
- Chinese equities underperformed, with BBG suggesting that China's giant state
pension fund was offloading large cap names. Still, the pullback for mainland
indices is minor, given the impressive rally witnessed in recent months.
- E-minis traded either side of unchanged, with broader market liquidity
hampered by Singapore's general election/public holiday.
- Nikkei -0.2%, Hang Seng -1.0%, CSI 300 -1.0%, ASX 200 -0.2%.
- S&P 500 futures -5, DJIA futures -35, NASDAQ 100 futures -32.
