Alexandroupolis LNG Set to Receive First Commissioning Cargo

The new 5.5bcm Alexandroupolis LNG import terminal in Greece is set to receive the first commissioning cargo with the arrival of the Gaslog Hong Kong according to ICIS LNG Edge.

  • Total is delivering the cargo from US Cameron LNG.
  • The floating unit consists of three regasification units, each with a regasification capacity of 315,000 cubic meters (267 mmscfd) of LNG/hour and four LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of up to 153,500 cubic meters and is the second LNG import facility for Greece.
  • The FSRU is expected to supply gas both domestically as well as via pipeline connections into southeastern Europe to supply Bulgaria and other central European nations.
  • The operator, Gastrade, has previously suggested commercial operations at 75% of capacity from day one by the end of February.
