Announced Plans To Return To Euro Bond Market

POLAND
  • Poland announced plans to return to the euro bond market for the first time in almost two years as borrowing costs in local currency surge (BBG).
  • The last time Poland sold euro bonds was in June 2020, 2bn EUR of of 3Y bonds.
  • Yesterday, Development Minister Buda told public television that Poland expects to receive first tranche of EU recovery funds (17bn PLN) in H2.
  • Buda added that Poland is not heading for ‘stagflation’, and that price growth is fueled by war in Ukraine.
  • Next important variable to watch will be PPI inflation and average gross wages coming out on May 20.
