Antofagasta CEO Warns Of New Tax Proposals

  • Chief Executive of Antofagasta, Ivan Arriagada, on Thursday warned that the company would review its copper investments in Chile if the government approves a proposal to increase taxes and royalties in the country, London's Financial Times reported the same day.
    • According to Arriagada, the new policy could see the tax rate go up to 50%, which would make copper investments "challenging" for the Chile-focused copper miner.
