STOCKS: Asia-Pacific stocks took their lead from Friday's US session, which
outweighed the negatives surrounding the lack of progress made at the US-China
trade talks held over the weekend, and allowed the region's major indices to
move higher.
- The Nikkei 225 added 1.3% with the materials sector leading the advance, while
the energy sector lagged.
- The Hang Seng added 1.3% with the health care sector outperforming, while the
energy sector, once again, underperformed. China's CSI 300 added 0.6%.
- The ASX 200 added 0.5%, with real estate leading the way higher, while
utilities & telecoms lagged.
- US index futures also moved higher, with the e-mini S&P adding 4 points and
the mini-Dow adding over 50 points.
