Asia Wakes Up To A Steeper Curve And Shocking Scenes

US TSYS

T-Notes unchanged at 137-06+ in early Asia-Pac trade.

  • The cash curve finished comfortably steeper on Wednesday, although the space ticked away from intraday cheaps on the back of the scenes in Washington DC as Trump supporters breached the Capitol. Recent headlines suggest that the building is now secure. 30s were still a little over 10bp cheaper come the close, with T-Notes also off worst levels.
  • Fallout from the developments in DC will be eyed, with some calling for Trump's impeachment, while comments from McConnell & Pence stood behind the democratic process of the U.S. election, as expected, before the process surrounding the certification of the election results was interrupted by the protestors (this process is set to continue this evening).
  • There is nothing in the way of notable tier 1 risk slated during Asia-Pac hours.
