Asset Holdings Rose Modestly Last Week

ECB asset holdings rose by E1.2bln in the week to Aug 12, with each asset column either flat or positive on a net basis for the first time since mid-June. This represented a stabilisation vs the previous week's E6.7bln reduction.

  • PEPP holdings were net flat, with E3bln in purchases offset by E3bln in redemptions; PSPP net purchases of E0.8bln reflected E0.4bln of redemptions.
  • Covered bond and CSPP holdings rose slightly, while ABS holdings were flat.
  • Total holdings under these programs are E10.2bln below the end-June peak of E4.96trn.
