AUD/JPY: Pressured on BOJ Speculation

AUD/JPY fell ~1.3% as speculation has increased that the December BOJ meeting is now "live" after BOJ-speak from Gov Ueda and Dep-Gov Himino in recent days. The pair was down as much as 3% before paring losses.

  • In early trade on Friday we sit at ¥95.15/20.
  • The pair is ~3.5% below the November highs, bears now target a break of the 200-Day EMA (¥94.38) which opens 93.73, low from 8 Dec, and ¥91.80, low from 28 Jul.
  • Bulls focus on regaining the ¥96 handle. From here they can target the 20-Day EMA (¥96.87) and YTD highs (¥98.62).
