AUD/JPY: Supported At ¥92 Post-BOJ, RBA In View

AUD/JPY was supported below the ¥92 handle in volatile trade post BOJ on Friday, after falling ~2% the pair unwound losses and ticked higher through the European and NY session to finish Friday~0.3% higher.

  • The pair sits at ¥93.75/85, and is little changed in early dealing on Monday.
  • Bull's immediate focus is on a break of the ¥94 handle which opens the 20-Day EMA (¥94.72) and the high from 26 July (¥95.90).
  • On the downside bears look to break the 200-Day EMA (¥92.34) and the low from 28 July (¥91.80) which opens the low from 1 June (¥90.30).
  • The highlight of the week is the RBA's monetary policy decision, the decision looks to be split between a hold at 4.10% and a 25bp hike to 4.35%.
  • On the wires shortly June Retail Sales and Industrial Production from Japan cross also due today is Australian Private Sector Credit and Melbourne Institute Inflation.
