Australia Cyclone Little to No Impact on LNG Production: Platts

Tropical Cyclone Megan that hit Australia earlier this week has had little to no impact on operations at Australia’s LNG terminals, according to Platts.

  • Initial news reports of the cyclone hitting the country’s northern territory sparked some bullishness in the market.
  • Platts earlier said there was some delay to cargo arrivals. At least one Japanese offtaker said they were asked about moving deliveries by one day for an Australian origin LNG cargo but added that there was no significant disruption from suppliers, Platts said.
  • A Woodside spokesperson said March 22 that its facilities were operating as normal.
