In June 2022 in seasonally adjusted terms, the value of new loan commitments:

  • fell 4.4% for housing, close to the level seen in September 2021, lower from last 1.7% increase.
  • fell 15.2% for personal fixed term loans, down from the 5.1% growth registered in May, marking the largest fall in the series with the exception of April 2020.
  • rose 7.7% for business construction (a typically volatile series), up from last 3.5% drop.
  • fell 19.4% for business purchase of property (a typically volatile series), converting the 19.5% increase last month.
