Australia Sep Dwelling Approvals -4.3% M/M

  • The number of dwellings approved in Australia fell 4.3% in September, in seasonally adjusted terms. This follows a 7.6% increase in August.
  • Private sector house approvals fell 16.0% in September, to 10,168, following a 3.7% rise in August. Private sector dwellings excluding houses rose 18.1% in September.
  • The value of total residential building fell 11.1%, comprising a 9.6% decrease in new residential building, and a 20.0% fall in alterations and additions after the series reached its second-highest level in August.
