Azeri Gas Exports Rose 12% YoY In Jan

Azerbaijan exported 2.2bcm of natural gas in January, up by 12% year on year, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said.

  • European countries were the largest buyer of Azeri gas with around 1bcm of purchases.
  • The country’s gas production rose by 4% on the year to 4.2bcm in January, data from the Energy Ministry show.
  • Earlier this month, Azerbaijan agreed to increase natural gas supplies to Turkey this year by around 19% to 10bcm. Gas Exports to Turkey stood at 0.9bcm last month.
  • In 2022, Azerbaijan exported 22.3bcm of gas, up by 12.3% from a year earlier.
