Bangladesh To Re-Enter LNG Spot Market Amid Lower Prices

LNG

Bangladesh is planning to buy 10-12 LNG spot cargoes until June as LNG prices have been easing, a senior official at Petrobangla said.

  • This is a reversal from last year’s decision to halt spot purchases after prices spiked.
  • Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company last week sought one LNG cargo for delivery in late February. The tender has not yet been awarded but the lowest offer was made at $19.74 by TotalEnergies, a source at RPGCL told Reuters.
  • "We are also trying to secure LNG from long-term partners, but it looks like they are unable to provide this year," the source said.
  • JKM Mar 23 down -2.4% at 19.03$/mmbtu
  • JKM-TTF Mar 23 down -0.9$/mmbtu at 0.39$/mmbtu
