Banxico Decision Due, Markets Expect 25bps Hike

  • The schedule for the US Sec. of State Blinken's visit to Mexico has been confirmed, with Blinken, Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas and Attorney General heading to Mexico City on October 8th. The goal of the trip is to produce a bilateral commitment on security priorities for the two countries.

  • Other than the CB decision, budget balance data for August is released after July's deficit of 242.7bln.
  • Ahead of the Banxico decision, MXN trades little changed after finishing the Wednesday session at the highest close since mid-June. A break above 20.6491 opens gains toward 20.7488 and levels not seen since late March.
