CABLE: Cable last seen at $1.2908, almost unch. on the day & just above
yesterday's lows.
- Sterling landed at the bottom of the G10 currency table yesterday, with
GBP/USD finishing 53 pips worse off, as Brexit impasse continued to apply weight
to the pair. The release of UK labour report failed to trigger any major
reaction, as the impact of a downtick in headline unemployment was countered by
weaker than exp. avg weekly earnings.
- UK PM May and Labour leader Corbyn met yesterday to discuss Brexit matters.
May's spokesman called the talks "constructive," but the Labour Party expressed
concerns over the "credibility of gov't commitments." Also yesterday, the gov't
declared that its Brexit bill will be submitted to parliament in the week of
June 3, but many question if the PM will be able to get the document through.
- Below the lower 1.0% 10-DMA envelope at $1.2886 would allow bears to maintain
momentum & open up the lower Bollinger band (2%) at $1.2844. On the topside,
bulls target the 200-DMA, which comes in at $1.2958.
- BoE's Haskel will deliver a lecture on Thursday.
