CBA Data Points To 5ppt Household Spending Fall Last Week

AUSTRALIA

CBA note that their "household card spending data for the week ending 13 August 2021 showed a 5-percentage point drop in spending growth from the previous week. National spending is tracking 4% higher than the corresponding week in 2019, but is significantly down from the 20% pace in May prior to the Victoria lockdown. For the week ending 13 August, between 12 and 16 million Australians were in lockdown."
