Chevron, Unions Final Deal Lingers After Strikes Ended

Chevron failed to provide the unions with an agreement that incorporates agreed bargaining outcomes and the recommendations of the Fair Work Commissions, the Offshore Alliance said on social media, after both parties agreed to a deal that ended industrial action at Chevron’s LNG sites.

  • “Despite 2 weeks of getting smashed up in PIA and supposedly agreeing to the Recommendations of the Fair Work Commission, Chevron have provided the Union with a draft Enterprise Agreement which fails to incorporate agreed bargaining outcomes and the Recommendations of the FWC”, the alliance said.
  • Chevron missed the deadline for providing the union with their draft enterprise agreement, the Offshore alliance added.
  • The unions called off strike action at the Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG facilities last week, after both parties on Friday agreed to recommendations by the Australian labour regulator.
