DOLLAR-YEN: Consolidation remains the theme in early NY, Usd/Jpy holds near the
peak of its narrow Y112.51-67 daily range. Japanese exporter supply is reported
to cap ahead of Y112.90 (Y112.87/88 (50-dma, Dec14 high). Focus turns to the
release of US Housing Starts/Building Permits at the bottom of the hour. The
seasonally adjusted pace of housing starts is expected to slow to a 1.250
million annual rate in November after a sharp increase in October. The NAHB
index rose further in November, a positive for the housing starts data. Traders
also look out for US Tax Reform headlines with the vote expected to take place
later today. Usd/Jpy last Y112.65.
