US DATA: Dec core PCE price index +0.2% as expected by both the Bloomberg 
consensus and MNI surveys. This followed a +0.2% reading for Nov. The 
y/y rate was unch from +1.9% in Nov.
- Total PCE price index +0.1%, with the y/y rate +1.7% vs +1.8% in Nov. 
- Jan pers income -0.1%, below the +0.3% expected by both the MNI 
median and the Bloomberg consensus following a 1.0% rise in Dec. Wages 
and salaries +0.3% in Jan after +0.5% in Dec, but proprietors income 
and return on assets down.
- Dec nominal PCE -0.5 vs -0.3% from the Bloomberg consensus and -0.1% 
from the MNI survey, reflecting a -1.9% in goods spending, as suggested 
by the Dec retail sales report. Services spending +0.1%. Real PCE -0.6%.
