Deputy Economy Minister De La Mora Forced To Resign

  • The departure means Mexico has lost both its main negotiators, following Clouthier’s resignation, as the government scrambles to head off a major dispute over energy with the United States and Canada.
  • Reports yesterday indicated that Mexico’s government is hoping to revive its efforts to deepen state control of the electricity market, looking for support from opposition lawmakers to muster the votes needed for constitutional reform, Interior Minister Adan Augusto Lopez said Wednesday, according to El Universal newspaper.
