GERMANY: Dr Joerg Kraemer at Commerzbank sees German wage agreements picking up,
helped by headline inflation recently fluctuating in the 1.5%-2% range over the
past year, which is above the 1% level prevalent when the previous agreements
were forged in H1 2016.
- Commerzbank "expect many settlements to end with at least a 3% increase".
- Kraemer adds that "the number of businesses which report that they are being
hampered by labour shortages has reached a record high. Germany is booming, and
we have raised our growth forecast for next year from 2.0% to 2.5%"
