East Of Suez Diesel Imports into Atlantic Basin Surge in October

OIL PRODUCTS

Atlantic Basin diesel imports from the Middle East and Asia have surged so far in October at ~1.3mn bpd according to Vortexa, up from September and nearly double August’s lackluster pace.

  • Larger volumes in the last couple of months have been imported into the UK, steady volumes into the West and East Med while an increased volume has arrived into West Africa in October.
  • The Atlantic Basin is increasingly turning to East of Suez markets as it looks to replace lost Russian volumes, banned February 5 – meaning we are approaching the first winter season without them.
  • Vortexa data projecting to October 21 based on vessels on the water.
