stronger at the start of what would appear to be a fairly quiet day event-wise.
- Global equities have been moving lower overnight ahead of the long weekend in
the US/UK, with further global tensions involving China.
- Main item on the menu this morning is ECB monetary policy meeting account
(1230BST); ECB's Chief Econ Lane speaks at 1530BST.
- In Rtrs interview out this morning, BoE's Ramsden added more fuel to the -ve
rate fire, saying it's reasonable to have an open mind on the subject. Amid that
and risk aversion, Gilt yields hitting new lows. ** Latest levels:
* Jun Bund futures (RX) up 24 ticks at 173.39 (L: 173.07 / H: 173.52)
* Germany: The 2-Yr yield is unchanged at -0.692%, 5-Yr is down 0.8bps at
-0.691%, 10-Yr is down 1.6bps at -0.511%, and 30-Yr is down 2bps at -0.087%.
* Jun Gilt futures (G) up 38 ticks at 138.85 (L: 138.61 / H: 138.99)
* UK: The 2-Yr yield is down 1.7bps at -0.064%, 5-Yr is down 1.7bps at -0.027%,
10-Yr is down 2.8bps at 0.143%, and 30-Yr is down 2.1bps at 0.548%.
* Italy / German 10-Yr spread 2.9bps wider at 213.8bps
