Eskom Announces Further Reduction In Load-Shedding

SOUTH AFRICA

South Africa's electricity utility says in a tweet that "loadshedding will be suspended where possible over the weekend and varied between Stages 1 and 2 for other periods."

  • Eskom notes that "due to some recovery in generation capacity over the past 48 hours and lower expected demand, loadshedding will be reduced to Stage 1 from 05:00 on Saturday until 16:00."
  • The updated schedule indicates that loadshedding will be entirely suspended from 05:00 on Sunday until 16:00, with another suspension of power rationing planned for 05:00-16:00 on Tuesday, which is a public holiday.
