EURO-DOLLAR
EURO-DOLLAR: EUR/USD last $1.1337, little changed on the day, after dropping 11
pips yesterday, with price action mostly driven by the gyrations in broader
dollar strength. The Asia-Pacific session yesterday saw USD coming under
pressure as Tsy yields softened and curve inversion remained in play. However,
the greenback recovered thereafter, allowing the rate to erase initial gains.
- Markets saw muted reaction to Italy's Dep PM Salvini saying he's sure an
accord with the EU on Rome's budget is coming.
- Bears eye Tuesday's intraday lows of $1.1319 and a move through that level
would open up the Nov 30 low at $1.1306. Conversely, bulls need a break above
yesterday's peak at $1.1419 before challenging the 50-DMA at $1.1426.
- EZ focus this week falls on services & composite PMIs due later today, as well
as EZ GDP & German industrial output due Friday. Elsewhere, ECB's de Guindos is
due to speak on Thursday.
