Gasoline Cracks Follow Crude Lower but Diesel Cracks Stronger

Diesel cracks picking up despite the fall in crude markets. Front month Brent is trading 5% lower on the day but Gasoil is only down 3.4%. Gasoline crack spreads however are drifting lower with ongoing uncertainty over fuel pump demand.

  • US gasoline pump prices have now fallen for 61 days to an average of 3.92$/gal down from over 5$/gal in June. Diesel pump prices are down to 5.027$/gal and could possibly fall below 5$/gal this week.
  • Brent OCT 22 down -5% at 93.2$/bbl
  • WTI SEP 22 down -5% at 87.44$/bbl
  • Gasoil SEP 22 down -3.6% at 1007.25$/mt
  • US gasoline crack down -1$/bbl at 35.14$/bbl
  • US ULSD crack up 0.3$/bbl at 55.88$/bbl
  • Gasoline-Brent down -2$/bbl at 15.77$/bbl
  • Gasoil-Brent up 0.3$/bbl at 40.12$/bbl
