GBP Bounces, Gilts Hit on Further Brexit Headlines

A Reuters report citing EU sources as saying the latest round of trade talks was "one of the most positive" helped GBP bounce sharply in recent trade, with GBP/USD rallying around 60 pips, before fading.

The report went on to say that Level Playing Field, fisheries and governance remain the biggest hurdles overall to a new trade deal, tempering some market enthusiasm and prompting the GBP/USD rally to fade and the Gilt price to bounce off the day's lows of 135.16.
