German Gas Demand From Households, Businesses Exceeds 2018-21 Average in April

Germany’s natural gas consumption in April from households and businesses exceeded the 2018-2021 average by 3.7%, Bnetza data showed.

  • Demand from household and businesses stood 17.4% below the average in March.
  • Natural gas consumption from industries in April stood 12.1% below the average, compared with 17.9% in March.
  • Overall gas demand stood 5.9% below the average in April, compared with 17.7% a month earlier.
  • German natural gas consumption last week stood 2.3% above the 2018-21 average. Demand rose by 0.7% week on week, amid temperatures below the 2018-21 average.
  • German gas storages stood at 67.28% of capacity on 2 May, up from 65.92% a week earlier.
